Executive Council appoints Rosalind Amoh as head of Women's FA Cup Committee

Sub-Editor of the Daily Graphic and Women’s football pioneer Rosalind Koramah Amoh has been named as chairperson on a four-member committee for the Women's FA Cup.

The astute female sports journalist, who has vast experience in the game, will lead the Committee to organize the Cup competition.

Rosalind Amoh previously served on the Women’s League Board, the Black Princesses Management Committee and the Media Committee of the GFA.

Banker Florence Bameh who served on the previous committee as a Member, will now work as Vice Chairperson of the Cup Committee. Other members of the committee are Afua Achiaa Boateng, administrative manager of Accra Hearts of Oak and Nana Ama Addo of Soccer Intellectuals.

The Women’s FA Cup Committee is mandated to make policies and programmes for the implementation of the Competitions Department to ensure the overall success of the competition.

The Women’s FA Cup Committee also has the responsibility of bringing the required innovations to deliver a great knockout event to the patrons of the competition.

Another task of the Women’s FA Cup Committee is to ensure that sponsors, partners and all stakeholders of the competition derive the desired benefits for the resources they invest in the event.

Their roles/responsibilities are as follows:

a) Develop financial budgets for key activations and events to ensure the successful FA Cup competition for each season.

b) Lead in securing potential partnerships to enhance the financial resources of the FA Cup.

c) Strive to achieve an incident-free competition, promoting a stance against hooliganism.

d) Plan and execute FA Cup competition. This includes planning elements such as determination of venues, review and preparation of competition rules and regulations, recommendations on prizes and awards and budgeting.

e) Ensure timely procurement, availability and deployment of critical resources required for the successful organization of the competition

g) Liaise with GFA Marketing Department to develop Marketing plan and strategies, prepare branding elements and ensure delivery of any relevant commitments to sponsors/partners

h)Prepare and ensure adherence to Activities like the FA Cup trophy tour, the FA Cup mascot.

i)Schedule for delivering the competition. This would include Launch Activities as well as promotional campaigns.

j)Liaise with GFA Communications Department to ensure effective communication in relation to the competition.

k) Liaise with Security Committee of the GFA to ensure that adequate security measures are put in place for the organization of the competition.

l) Prepare and present periodic reports to GFA Executive Council covering all aspects of Committee's activities
