Teams competing in the National Women’s League have received assortment of sporting equipment aimed at the development of the sport among women.
Representatives of all 12 teams in the league were at the headquarters of the GFA on Wednesday to receive the equipments.
The equipments which included jerseys, boots, shin pads (for 18 players), a pair of goalkeeper’s gloves, training bibs, 12 footballs and football bags were handed to the GFA from FIFA as part of efforts to develop the women’s game.
Leanier Addy, chairperson of the National Women’s League tasked beneficiaries to use the equipments to achieve the optimum performance and improve the game.
“FIFA gave us these equipments so as to develop women football and therefore we must make sure we put these items to good use for this aim to be achieved,” she said.
