Structure of Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League unchanged

The attention of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has been drawn to a story circulating on social media with the  indication that the Executive Council at a meeting on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 agreed to extend the number of clubs participating in the Malta Guinness Women's Premier League from Twenty to Twenty-four.

The public is hereby advised to disregarded those reports.

The Malta Guinness Women’s League will continue to be made up of ten clubs each in the Northern and Southern zones, with the bottom two teams from each zone going on relegation to the Regional Division One League.

The Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League continues this weekend with Matchday 17 fixtures.

The Ghana Football Association has invested heavily in Women’s football in the last few years and will continue to strive for development in the Women’s game.
