President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has commissioned the borehole project at the Akatsi Collage of Education in the Akatsi South District of the Volta Region. The commissioning was part of a working visit to the Region that began at Kpando on Sunday, May 7, 2023.

President Simeon-Okraku was accompanied by the Member of Parliament for Akatsi South and owner of Akatsi All Stars Hon. Bernard Ahiafor, Daniel Agbogah, Volta Regional Football Association Chairman and Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association, Samuel Aboabire.

This brings to three, the number of borehole projects to be commissioned in the Volta Region following the commissioning similar projects at Kpando Park and Ho stadium.

The Collage of Education Park is the home venue for Division One League side Akatsi All Stars and a Game Centre for the Volta Regional Division Two, Women’s Division One League and the Juvenile League.

The borehole project is an initiative of the Executive Council to improve domestic competitions across the football ecosystem. A number of facilities in Greater Accra, Ashanti and Brong Ahafo Regions have already been completed and commissioned by President Simeon-Okraku.

The project is fully funded by proceeds from the FIFA Forward 1.0.
