Nsoatreman stun Chelsea, Bechem United hold Asante Kotoko

Nsoatreman FC put up yet another brilliant performance on Matchday 7 of the betPawa Premier League as they shocked Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park.

Berekum Chelsea were back to their favorite ground looking to bounce back to winning ways following the 2-0 loss to Bechem United last weekend.

Chelsea had a flying start to the game, created chances and had a lions share of possession but Nsoatreman FC showed resilience at the back to thwart their efforts.

Eric Osei Bonsu scored the only goal of the match in the 32nd minute to give his side all the spoils.

The win keeps Nsoatreman FC at the top of the League table with 13 points as Berekum Chelsea drops to the 14th spot with 7 points.

In Tamale - two-time champions Aduana FC cruised to a 3-1 win over Real Tamale United at the Aliu Mahama stadium.

The win is their first on the road and their second consecutive of the season.

The Ogya lads who came from a goal down to beat Accra Great Olympics last weekend- repeated the same thing this time as they scored in either half to hammer their hosts in Tamale.

Experienced winger Emmanuel Gyamfi scored in the 46th minute to cancel Abdul Shakun’s 22nd minute strike as the two sides headed into the break on level terms.

Emmanuel Gyamfi netted his second of the day inside 80 minutes before Isaac Mintah completed the rout with a fine finish in the 86th minute.

Meanwhile League champions Medeama SC needed a Jonathan Sowah first half strike to beat FC Samartex 1996 1-0 at Akoon Park. The mauve and yellows are now 8th in the table with 10 points while FC Samartex drops to the 6th spot with 10 points.

At the El-wak stadium - Kwabena Boateng scored the winning goal for Legon Cities in a 1-0 win over Dreams FC. Boateng who has had a sterling start to life at Legon Cities scored the winner in the 33rd to condemn Dreams FC to yet another defeat on the road.

In Kumasi - Augustine Okrah rescued Bechem United from defeat against Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara stadium. The Porcupine Warriors were touted as favorites having plummeted to a winning run in their last home game against Aduana FC.

Asante Kotoko made their dominance count in the 9th minute through Peter Acquah. Acquah got on the end of a brilliant team play to smash home the ball into the roof of the net for the opener.

Back from recess, Augustine Okrah scored in his third consecutive game in the 54th minute to make it 1-1 at the Baba Yara stadium.

Bechem United defended gallantly for the remainder of the game and held on for a vital away point.

Bechem United are now in 12th place with 8 points while Asante Kotoko stay in the middle half the table with 10 points.

Finally on Sunday, Kpando Heart of Lions drew goalless with Karela United at their newly adopted Hohoe Stadium.

Earlier on Saturday, Accra Hearts of Oak fought back to earn a point against Bibiani Gold Stars at DUN’s Park.

Hamza Issah scored the equalizer for Hearts of Oak in added time to cancel an 81st minute goal from Appiah McCarthy.

Elsewhere in Accra - Great Olympics left it late to pip Nations FC 1-0 at the Accra Sports stadium. Solomon Twene proved to be the hero with a late finish that gave Accra Great Olympics the points.
