King Faisal put up a spirited performance to beat Dreams FC 3-2 on Match Day 9 of the Ghana Premier League on Tuesday to maintain their unbeaten home record.

King Faisal went into the game breathing down the neck of Aduana FC – who held a three point advantage at the top of the table. King Faisal have yet to lose at home this season having picked four wins, one draw after five home matches and were aiming for a win to maintain their smooth home run.

Danger man Zubairu Ibrahim opened the scoring in the 5th minute after pouncing on a defensive error before slotting home. The visitors had a slow start to the game and got punished when Zubairu capitalized on one of such errors to score the opener.

Dreams FC quickly regrouped and took charge of the game with the likes of Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Maxwell Arthur and Issah Ibrahim pushing for the equalizer. Kwame Karikari was fouled in the box by King Faisal goalkeeper Adams Abdul Jabal and the referee pointed to the spot as he whistled for a penalty in favor of Dreams FC.

Agyenim Boateng expertly converted the kick in the 31st minute to level things up for Dreams FC – But the equalizer lasted for only three minutes as Enock Morrison restored King Faisal’s lead in the 34th minute.

Back from recess, King Faisal piled pressure for the third goal and got rewarded on the 46th minute through an own goal from defender Habib Mohammed.

Summer signing Kwaku Karikari reduced the deficit for Dreams FC inside 66 minutes but it wasn’t enough to give the visitors a point as King Faisal held on to win 3-2 at the Baba Yara stadium.

The result takes King Faisal to 20 points – joint top of the table with Aduana FC and three points ahead of Asante Kotoko who are in third place with 17 points with a game in hand.
