Karela United ended their winless streak with a 2-1 win against leaders Aduana FC at the Aliu Mahama stadium on Saturday.

Karela had gone eight games without a win and needed the points to save their campaign.

The Tamale lads scored in either half through Samuel Kumi and Evans Adomako to secure  the points.

Samuel Kumi netted first in the 35th minute to give Karela United a well deserved lead before Evans Adomako added the second goal on the hour mark.

Karela United dominated play from the get go and created decent chances - making life uncomfortable for the defence of Aduana FC. The former champions later pulled one back through Gabriel Mensah in the 78th minute.

The win takes Karela United to the 12th position with 12 points while Aduana FC keeps hold of the first position with 21 points.

Elsewhere, Bechem United continued their fine form with a 2-1 win over Kpando Heart of Lions. The Hunters have grown in confidence in recent weeks after recovering from a turbulent start of the campaign.

Augustine Okrak opened the scoring in the 19th minute to give Bechem United a slim first half lead.

After the interval, Gabriel Tenlep added the second goal - 13 minutes into the second half to give Bechem United a two goal cushioning before Samuel Agbenyegah reduced the deficit for Heart of Lions who are rooted at the bottom of the table with 7 points.

Bechem United have now appreciated on the table by jumping to the 6th spot with 16 points.
