Holders Faith Ladies were off to a flying start in the Women's Premier League Cup with a convincing 3-1 win over Premier League Champion Ampem Darkoa Ladies on Saturday.

Zanira Abdul Razak struck first for Faith Ladies in the 20th minute after a nervy start from both ends.

Adwoa Donkor flashed a 25-yard drive past goalkeeper, Charlotte Adjei in the 27th minute to increase the tally for Faith Ladies before Ampem Darkoa reduced the deficit through Captain Jennifer Owusua inside 31 minutes.

Captain, Lilian Goli added the third in the 34th minute with a low drive after latching onto Adwoa Donkor’s superfluous cross.

Both side kept knocking at goal but could not add to their tally in the second half as Faith Ladies held on to beat the League Champions, Ampem Darkoa Ladies 3-1.

This victory keeps Faith Ladies’ hopes of defending the title. The Dansoman based side will play against Northern Ladies in their second Group B game.
