President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has hinted that the Ghana Football Association plans to engage the Ministry of Youth and Sports on a possible investment at the Tema Sports stadium to make the facility more accessible to clubs in the Greater Accra Region.

Currently about five lower-Division clubs and five Division One clubs, Na God FC, Tema Youth SC, Attram De Visser, Golden Kicks and Tudu Mighty Jets use the venue as their home ground.

The Tema stadium pitch which was turned into an artificial turf back in 2007 was constructed by the Ghana Football Association and handed over to the National Sports Authority (NSA) after the Africa Cup of Nations tournament in 2008.

Delivering his key note address at the commissioning of the Kurt Okraku Winkogo Technical Centre, the President hinted that efforts are being made to invest in one more facility in the Greater Accra Region.

‘’Having achieved the construction and the establishment of the Technical Centre in Winkogo, I would want to believe that the other regions of our country who also deserve such attention will be knocking on the doors of the Football Association’’ he said.

''So the question is, which region will be next in our determination to invest in the construction of first class football facilities of course through the support of our mother body FIFA’’

‘’The next project to be undertaken by the Ghana Football Association i.e. the construction of a first class pitch like this would be in the Greater Accra Region.

‘’The target would be for the Football Association to engage the Ministry of Youth and Sports so that we will be allowed to make an investment in the Tema Sports stadium so that clubs in the Greater Accra Region will also have access to more and more football pitches’’ President Simeon-Okraku added.
