GFA thanks Bernhard Lippert as he ends tenure as GFA Technical Director on a high

The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association has expressed appreciation to Bernhard Lippert for his enormous contribution during his three year tenure as Technical Director of the Association.

The experienced German technical director headed the GFA’s Technical Directorate from October 2020.

As Technical Director of the GFA and Head of the Technical Directorate, he formulated guidelines, strategies, and policies for the training and technical development of coaches in Ghana.

He was also responsible for the strategy, development and technical direction of the Technical Directorate, preparation, and implementation of technical programmes at the grassroots and juvenile levels.

Until his appointment as Technical Director of the GFA, Mr. Lippert was the Technical Director of the Associations of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA), a position he occupied for 12 years.

He also served intermittently during the period as the Head Coach of Azerbaijan’s U17, U19, and U21 national teams.

Lippert was Head Coach of Eintracht Frankfurt between 1998-99, where he also served as Assistant Coach, Youth Education Supervisor, and Head Coach of Eintracht Frankfurt U23.

At the early stages of his coaching career, he had brief coaching stints with German giants Bayern Munich and English side Leeds United.

During his tenure in Ghana, Mr. Lippert achieved the following as Technical Director of the GFA: 1. Development of DNA for the Ghana Football Association. 2. Developed workbook for the Elite training project. 3. Engaged Puma for equipment sponsorship for the Talent Identification project (T.I.P) 4. Engaged FIFA for technical support. 5. Commenced the TIP pilot programme in districts in Greater Accra. 6. The maiden GFA Football Analysis Level 1 Course. 7. First ever Goalkeepers Course organized by FIFA in Ghana. 8. Over 1636 coaches trained at all levels. 9. Secured attachment opportunities for some Ghanaian coaches. 10. FIFA First ever Beach Soccer Coaching Course. 11. Development of Men Football Strategy 12. Collaborated with FIFA for the boarding school project. 13. Football for Girls Projectb 14. FIFA youth development coaching course
