Five Ghanaian Football Clubs will receive an amount of USD 565, 772 for releasing their players during the senior national team's participation in the 2022 FIFA World Cup™ in Qatar.

Topflight Clubs Asante Kotoko SC, Accra Hearts of Oak SC,  Dreams FC and King Faisal and Division One League side Steadfast FC will all receive respective amounts from the FIFA Club Benefits Programme  which is a landmark programme through which FIFA financially rewards Clubs for helping to make the FIFA World Cup the premier sports competition in the world.

The amounts received are in respect of Daniel Afriyie Barnieh who was then a player of Accra Hearts of Oak SC and Ibrahim Danlad of Asante Kotoko SC who were in Ghana's squad for the World Cup.

Steadfast FC and Dreams SC also received payments in respect of Issahaku Abdul Fatawu who played with the two Clubs respective Clubs before he departed the local scene.

The FIFA Club Benefits Programme recognizes the contribution that clubs make to the success of FIFA World Cup, and this far-reaching initiative ensures that FIFA redistributes a portion of the revenues from the competition to the clubs.

A total of USD 209m was distributed to the clubs that released players, as well as to the clubs with which these players were registered in the two years leading up to the final stage of the FIFA World Cup (i.e. the qualification phase).

In total, 440 clubs from all around the world received a share of the USD 209m.

Below is the breakdown of the amounts the five Ghanaian Clubs will receive:
