Elmina Sharks stun Young Redbull, Skyy FC make strong comeback in Zone Two

Last season’s runners up Skyy FC bounced back from a 1-0 defeat to Rospak FC to beat Soccer Intellectuals 2-0 at St. Martins Park at Daboase. The 2023 Division One League Super Cup finalists lost their star man Baba Musah Hamadu to FC Samartex 1996 in the summer transfer but are bent on fighting for the League title in Zone Two despite their false start on Matchday One. Paul Ennin scored from the spot in the 37th minute to put the home team in the lead before Andrews Cobbinah fired the second goal inside 69 minutes. Skyy FC are now 6th in the League standinfs with 3 points following one win and one defeat.

Meanwhile former Premier League side Elmina Sharks humbled new boys Young Redbull FC 2-0 to record back-to-back victories in the League. Alhassan Adamu scored in the 44th minute before Joseph Effah doubled the lead in the second half. Elmina Sharks began the season with a 1-0 win over Swedru All Blacks at the Swedru Park on Matchday One to set their season off to a sparkling start.

Elsewhere - Future Stars FC draw 1-1 against Cape Coast Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs at the Ejisu Okese Park. Hafiz Alhassan scored first for Ebusua Dwarfs in the 12th minute Daniel Raphael Nyameboame equalized the goal in the 69th minute for the host to split the points. Ernest Kwaku Frimpong of Future Stars was named the player of the match.
