Doris Boaduwaa hits brace as Ghana beat Namibia in AFCON qualifier

Doris Boaduwaa scored in either half to propel Ghana to a 3-1 win over Namibia in the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations final round 1st leg qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium Friday.

Ghana dominated play and took the lead on the 26th minute through Doris Boaduwaa.

Captain Portia Boakye doubled the lead inside 37 minutes when her deliciously flown corner kick zoomed straight into the far left corner for the second goal.

After the break, Doris Boaduwaa added the third goal - her second of the day in the 58th minute before a defensive blunder gifted the Namibians a consolation in the 69th minute.

Nora Hauptle is hopeful of maintaining the impressive unbeaten record (10 consecutive wins) as she aims to qualify for next years Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco after missing on the previous edition.

Ghana hold a significant advantage going into the second leg scheduled for Tuesday, December 5, at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa.
