Disciplinary Committee announce sanctions for Bofoakwa Tano FC & Asante Kotoko SC

The Disciplinary Committee (DC) has handed a three-match home ban to Bofoakwa Tano FC and imposed a fine of GHS20,000 on the Club following various degrees of misconduct in their Premier League match against Nsoatreman FC at the Sunyani Coronation Park.

Bofoakwa Tano FC was charged on three counts for breaching Article 16(1)(c), Article 16(2)(b), Article 16(2)(a) and Article 16(2)(f) in the said match.

After considering the defence of Bofoakwa Tano FC and also the evidence adduced and the recording of the match, Bofoakwa Tano FC was found guilty of all charges and sanctioned accordingly.

The DC also ruled that the GFA should offer financial support to Coach of Nsoatreman FC, Maxwell Konadu and Referee Robert Musey who were attacked by officials and supporters of Bofoakwa Tano FC.

Officials of Bofoakwa Tano FC namely, Ernest Adu - Massage Therapist, Abubakari Mohammed - Team Manager, Isaac Tannor - Physiotherapist and Seidu Manan - Welfare Manager, have all been handed match bans and fined GHc2000 for physically assaulting the match officials in the said match.

Player Bright Boakye has also been handed a two-match ban with immediate effect and fined GHc2000 for breaching Article 12(1)(i) and Article 12(1)(k) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019.

Asante Kotoko SC has also been fined an amount of GHS5000 for breaching Article 16(1)(c), Article 16(2)(b) and Article 16(2)(f) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019 in their Ghana Premier League match against Dreams FC at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Supporters of the club were found to have thrown sachets and bottles of water at match officials while they were on their way to the dressing room and physically assaulted them in the tunnel of the stadium.

According to the decision, Asante Kotoko SC shall pay for the full cost of the Referees Communications gadgets and beeper flag that were destroyed after the match.

The GFA Prosecutors have charged various Clubs who have breached the Regulations of their respective competitions.
