Executive Council member Dr. Mrs. Gifty Oware-Mensah, says the Council is proud of Ampem Darkoa Ladies despite losing out on the bronze medal at the Women’s Champions League.

The Ghanaian Champions were beaten 2-0 by AS FAR in the third place playoffs on Saturday having defeated them in the group stage.

Speaking to the players after the loss, Mrs. Oware-Mensah stressed on the Association's satisfaction of their relentless effort.

"The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association is very proud of you as a team and for even being a part of the last four teams here in Ivory Coast," she said.

"We all wished we could have gone home with the Bronze medal to show for our efforts, but we still do appreciate the attempt and are very proud of you all," she added.

She urged the team to continue with their great display in pursuit of another Africa campaign next year.

"Let's go back home and continue with the good work and hopefully return next year. It has been a great exposure, and remember, you are still Ghanaian champions, "she emphasized.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies managed two wins out of the five games they played at the 2023 CAF Women's Champions League and finished 4th in the tournament.
